These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Clip Translate mobile application and this website (together, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, or using Clip Translate, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Clip Translate lets you select a local video, transcribe speech, translate captions, preview subtitles, and optionally burn translated subtitles into a new video file. Original audio is intended to remain unchanged. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Current limits include a maximum duration of 5 minutes and a maximum longest edge of 1920 pixels (1080p). We may change limits, languages, or features at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your country) to use the App. If you use the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms.

3. Your content and license

You retain all rights to videos you select and files you export. You are responsible for having the right to process that content (including any people, music, trademarks, or third-party footage in the clip).

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process the selected file on your device solely to provide the feature you request. We do not claim ownership of your videos.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the App for unlawful content, including material that infringes copyright or privacy rights
Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the App, ads, or our website
Interfere with analytics, crash reporting, ads, or attribution in a way that constitutes fraud
Use the App to process content you do not have permission to copy or modify

5. Accuracy of transcription and translation

Speech recognition and on-device translation are automated and can be incomplete or incorrect, especially with dialects, names, codes, noise, or overlapping speakers. Preview subtitles before burning. You are responsible for checking the output before you publish or rely on it.

6. Ads, analytics, and third-party services

The App may show Google AdMob advertisements. The App uses Google Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, the device advertising ID, and a mobile measurement partner (MMP) for diagnostics, advertising, and install attribution. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party ads or destinations you open from an ad.

7. On-device processing and models

The first time you use certain languages, the App may download speech or translation models over the network. Model size, quality, and availability can change. Network charges from your carrier or internet provider apply.

8. Intellectual property

The Clip Translate name, logo, website, and App design are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the App except as allowed by the app store and applicable law.

9. App stores

If you download the App from Google Play or the Apple App Store, those stores’ terms also apply. The store operator is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. To the extent required by store rules, the store operator is a third-party beneficiary of the disclaimer and limitation of liability sections.

10. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT TRANSCRIPTIONS, TRANSLATIONS, OR BURNED VIDEOS WILL BE ACCURATE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $10 IF THE APP WAS FREE).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the App, or your violation of these Terms or any law, including copyright claims related to videos you process.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may stop offering the App or change features without notice. Provisions that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) remain in effect.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. If you continue to use the App after an update, you accept the new Terms where permitted by law.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer protection laws of your country require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue, except that you may bring consumer claims in your country of residence where required.
