Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Clip Translate (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Clip Translate mobile application and this website. It is written for Google Play and App Store disclosure, including advertising, analytics, crash reporting, and attribution.

1. Who we are
Clip Translate is a mobile app that transcribes speech, translates captions, and burns subtitles into a video you select from your gallery. Processing is designed to run on-device. We do not require you to create an account.
2. Information we process on your device
To provide the core feature, the App accesses media you choose:
- Selected video files from your gallery, including duration and resolution metadata used to enforce limits (maximum 5 minutes; longest edge 1920 pixels / 1080p).
- Extracted audio used only to transcribe speech on-device.
- Transcript and translated subtitle text generated on-device and written into a new video file if you choose to burn subtitles.
- Temporary working files stored in the App’s sandbox and deleted when a job is reset or the App clears cache.
We do not operate cloud storage for your videos. We do not sell your video content. If you save or share a finished file, that copy lives in your gallery or the destination you choose.
3. Information collected through SDKs
The App includes third-party software that may collect device and usage information, including advertising identifiers. This data is processed by those providers under their own policies. We use it to keep the App free, measure marketing, fix crashes, and understand feature usage — not to read your video content.
3.1 Google Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to log events such as starting a translation, selecting languages, processing steps, burn success or failure, and save/share actions. Events may include approximate device information, app version, language codes you select, and video duration/resolution metadata. They are not intended to include the contents of your video or subtitle text.

3.2 Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs, stack traces, device model, OS version, and App state at the time of a failure so we can fix bugs. Crash reports are not intended to include your video files.
Crashlytics information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
3.3 Google AdMob
The App may display advertisements served by Google AdMob, including banner, interstitial, rewarded, or native ads. AdMob and its advertising partners may collect or receive:
- Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / IDFA where applicable)
- IP address, device type, OS, app version, and approximate location derived from IP
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, and related diagnostics)
- Information used to show personalized or non-personalized ads, depending on your consent and device settings

3.4 Advertising ID
On Android, the App and advertising/analytics SDKs may access the Google Advertising ID. On iOS, they may access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission. Advertising IDs are used for ads, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and attribution. You can reset or limit ad tracking in your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads)
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising
3.5 Mobile measurement partner (MMP)
We use a mobile measurement partner to measure installs, campaigns, and in-app events for advertising attribution (for example, which ad led to an install). An MMP may collect advertising ID, IP address, device identifiers, install referrer / SKAdNetwork data, and app events we send for attribution. This data is used for marketing measurement and fraud prevention, not to process your video files.
Depending on the partner we enable (such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, or a similar MMP), their privacy policy will also apply. We will keep this section updated if the specific MMP name is published in a later revision. You can contact us at info@translatevideo.com to ask which MMP is currently active.
4. Permissions
The App may request:
- Photos / videos / storage or media access — to pick a clip and save the finished video.
- Internet — to load ads, send analytics and crash reports, download on-device language models the first time you use a language pair, and talk to attribution services.
- Advertising ID — as described above.
You can deny optional permissions. Core translation of a local file does not require an account. Ads, analytics, and model downloads may not work without network access.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
If GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process information on these bases:
- Contract — to provide the on-device translation feature you request.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, understand aggregate usage, and fix crashes.
- Consent — for personalized advertising, advertising ID use where required, and MMP/analytics cookies or equivalent identifiers where consent is required (including Google’s EU user consent policy).
You may withdraw consent in the App’s consent dialog (where shown), your device ad settings, or by emailing us.
6. Children
Clip Translate is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that sent data to us or our partners, contact info@translatevideo.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete what we control.
7. Sharing
We share information with:
- Google (Analytics, Crashlytics, AdMob, advertising services)
- Our mobile measurement partner
- Service providers who host this website
- Authorities if required by law
We do not sell your video files. Advertising and analytics partners may process device identifiers in ways that some privacy laws treat as a “sale” or “share” of personal information for cross-context advertising. You can opt out via device ad settings and, where available, in-app consent controls.
8. International transfers
Google and MMP servers may process data in the United States and other countries. Those providers use contractual and technical safeguards described in their policies.
9. Retention
- On-device job files: until you start over, uninstall the App, or the system clears cache.
- Analytics, crash, ad, and attribution data: retained by Google and the MMP according to their retention settings (typically months to a few years for diagnostics and ads measurement).
10. Your rights and deletion
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, and to object to certain advertising uses.
To request deletion of information we control, email info@translatevideo.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. Uninstalling the App removes local video working files on the device. We cannot delete copies you already saved to your gallery or shared with others. Advertising ID resets and Google/MMP opt-outs are handled through device settings and those companies’ tools.

11. This website
This marketing and legal website may use standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) from the hosting provider. If we later add website Google Analytics, we will update this policy.
12. Changes
We may update this policy when we add SDKs, change ads, or the law requires it. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
